In this new age of dumbing the skill of an mcee to average elementary status D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C. a somewhat newcomer to the repetitive cycle of washed out industry standards. His latest efforts has imposed the idea rather than dumb it down let’s raise the bar! As his first major installment to a legacy he releases the album: Life and Lessons. This is a complete over view into our society through the eyes of one of hip hop’s true preservationist. A diverse collage plays out like a picture burned into the mind of the listener. A collaboration of struggles, hard times, and high caliber vocal structures sure to grab the listener as well as give a fan something worthy of talking about.
D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C. born and raised in the streets of New Jersey’s gritty inner city of it’s states capital Trenton. Growing up wasn’t easy while getting into trouble and constant run in’s with the Police doing anything to keep busy.
Stealing cars, drugs, and even a brief career of tagging landed Matic in a slue of problems. He quickly was taken under the wing of one of B.C.O. a local graph crew members named Chris a.k.a. C-Level. C while tagging in an alley listening to Matic reciting one of his poems out of a sketch pad he carried. In return C-Level began spitting a verse off the top of his head sparking Matic’s attention and the rest is history.
With a push in the right direction from his cousin Sincere another local mcee sent D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C. on a verbal assault to get notice. Daily instrumental sparring sessions with C helped him build character behind his already seamless gift to gab. Building his name opening for some of hip hop’s future elites like Redman, Poor Righteous Teachers, and Run DMC just to name a few is the setting stage of what’s next for the talented youngster. The embodiment of songs in the album is just some of the many lessons he learned at a very young age to his ability to verbally visualize his style made it easy to title his album, Life and Lessons.
Adding to his already seamless flow is hip hop legend Tame One formally of the Artifactz on the song, Almost Famous. Where it seems as if Tame is passing the torch to the new comer to blaze his on trails with. As Matic solidifies his ground as he reminds mcees hip hop made us not vise versa. SD team members J Soul and Knokz joins Matic on the crusade in Over You featuring J Soul and In The Mix featuring Knokz. The final key component in Matic’s collaborative efforts is none other than Main Flow of the group Mood. As they go back and forth explaining that 2 awesome talents can’t be stopped on the song Ya Man’s Hot. All of which are assured to become instant favorites.
The production is nothing less than fire as well. Teaming up with the hardest hitting team in the Massachusetts area known better as Jake Case and Quikmonee of Definitive Life Stylez (DLS) Case and Quik who has done work with groups like Infamous Mobb and tons of local acts in and outside of the Tri-State area. Along with DJ Doc West of Single Mind Pros/Hylandaz experienced talents with production helps Matic to set himself further apart from the norm. Doc well known for his works with the likes of Main Flow from Mood, Tame One, Binkis Recs and Earatik Statik adds on to the embodiment of Matic’s 1st chapter. The final key element the young phenomenon The Arcitype who has done production for some of hip hop’s elites including Edo G., Kool G Rap, Tek of Smiff N’ Wesson, and Terminology just to name a few. Makes for strong buzz worthy collective of pure hip hop essence.
D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C.‘s keen talent and witty flows are definitely a cut above the rest. Adds in the final piece to a album sure to become a favorite on any real hip hop listeners repeat dial.
